We moved to Pittsburgh in September 2004, and we like it here. There seem to be a lot of good opportunities to be useful
Rep. Michael Doyle, D-PA (14th): Our federal representative.
Thomas Merton Center: Peace and social justice activist center in our new home of Pittsburgh.
NoToWar: Very good site opposed to the Iraq war; the members of the group are based in Pittsburgh. Includes great first-hand reporting from Iraq.
Pittsburgh Organizing Group: Something else for me to check out.
Pittsburgh CARES: Volunteer organization to which Andria and I will be devoting some time, if our lives ever settle down a bit.
Idealist.org: Forum for volunteering and community action with which I am just starting to become familiar.
Pittsburgh Young Professionals: I still make the cut-off, not that there is one. (I asked.) Another organization I joined recently.
