A Bush has been on the national ticket in five of the last six presidential elections.  Is the U.S. a democracy?  It feels like a monarchy to me.

Dennis Kucinich: Kucinich has proposed legislation to found a Cabinet-level Department of Peace; he's the chairman of the Congressional Progressive Caucus (the largest caucus!), and has many excellent ideas which would make the world a safer, kinder, and more equitable place.  Read about him.

Politics & Science: Rep. Henry Waxman, D-CA, is another Congressman I admire.  This link is to his Politics & Science web site, which tracks Bush administration abuses of science.  Pay attention to Waxman's other pronouncements, too - he was the one who documented 237 separate lies the Bush administration told about Iraq.

BlackBoxVoting: I didn't read the book by Bev Harris before the election; I should have.  (Still haven't, unfortunately.)  But read this web site and ask yourself - WTF are we thinking?

RedefiningProgress: "Redefining Progress works with a broad array of partners to shift the economy and public policy towards sustainability."  A new link, and a web site I'm eager to delve in to.

TinyRevolution: I read some entries in this blog, and was blown away by their erudition, wit, and slashing anger.  Then I realized it's written by my insane college hallmate Jon Schwarz.  Small world.

Ted Rall: Rall may be an abrasive prick - although that is not my opinion - but he has traveled widely in Afghanistan and Central Asia, and that should be reason enough to check out what he has to say.  Read his comics too; he states simple truths, unrestrained by politeness, and they're hysterically funny - if depressingly on-target.

Z Magazine: "Z is an independent monthly magazine dedicated to resisting injustice, defending against repression, and creating liberty. It sees the racial, gender, class, and political dimensions of personal life as fundamental to understanding and improving contemporary circumstances; and it aims to assist activist efforts for a better future."  Also the portal for Znet.

South End Press: Publisher of liberal-progressive books.  As Kurt Vonnegut says, "Lonely No More!"  Support them!
